Starting with submarines
Set up a submarine in your FC workshop, keep fuel and repair materials stocked, and send it on voyages to gain ranks and collect items.
Before you start
Your FC needs a house and a company workshop. A small house works just as well as a medium or large for submarines. If you’re a member rather than the leader, check that you have access to operate them.
Your first submarine
Your first submarine starts as SSSS: Shark-class hull, stern, bow, and bridge. Each letter names the class of one part, in that order.
- Unlock the recipe. Use the schematic board in the workshop to add the required recipe to the company crafting log.
- Get the components and dive credits. These are needed to register the submarine.
- Register and deploy it. Use the workshop’s voyage control panel to outfit and register the submarine, then send it on a voyage.
When it returns, collect the results and send it out again. Voyages give experience; higher ranks let you equip new parts. The parts and route affect what the submarine can reach and bring back.
Routine supplies
Keep ceruleum tanks stocked for fuel. Buy them with company credits from a housing district’s resident caretaker or the workshop’s mammet voyager #004A.
You also need Magitek Repair Materials for repairs. These can be crafted; see the recipe.
Progression and routes
Later builds depend on your submarine’s rank and what you want to run. For build, unlock-order, and route advice, join FFXIV Submarine Builders.
