Payment methods
FC chest is the usual way to pay. Mannequins let other characters handle the gil without joining the FC being sold.
FC chest
This is the most common method. Join the FC on the character who will receive leadership, then deposit the agreed gil into the company chest. That character needs to hold the gil and have permission to deposit it.
The seller can give your FC rank permission to deposit gil without allowing withdrawals. They withdraw the payment and confirm receipt in chat. The chest also keeps a deposit and withdrawal history.
If you’re buying on an alt but your gil is on your main, the gil has to reach the alt first. A mannequin is usually easier.
Mannequin
This is convenient when your gil is on your main and you’re buying on an alt: your main pays the seller’s mannequin directly, so the alt never needs the gil or its own retainer.
The character setting up the mannequin needs a retainer. Retainers unlock after completing the main scenario quest The Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
The character receiving the gil places a mannequin in an apartment or house and assigns a retainer to it. They list sellable gear for the agreed payment amount, and the paying character buys it directly from the mannequin. The gil goes to the receiving character’s retainer.
Buy directly from the mannequin to avoid market-board fees. The characters handling the payment do not need to be in the FC being sold.
Direct trade
Direct trades are rarely used for FC house sales. With a 1 million gil limit per trade, large payments would take too many separate trades.
During handover
Join the FC before paying the deposit. After the 30-day wait, pay the remaining gil before the seller transfers leadership. The payment method does not change that order.
If other characters handle the gil, say which ones when you confirm the agreement in chat. Confirm receipt of the deposit and final payment in chat, and keep the records.
